Connolly has had his mandatory rest, and is fully recovered, after taking a knock while putting in a big tackle in the opening win over Keswick.
He'll take his place in a line-up which includes another hard tackler in Sam Knight, who moves from full back to centre, with Will Hilditch returning to the wing, and Matt Siddle to full back.
Max Tennant is away, as are Jay Corbett and Jack Angus, so Chris Atkins is again at No 8. with Jake Linighan back from Paris to also start in the back row. The only change to the front five is at loosehead where the mobile Louis Adamson starts.
Craig Hadwen will provide front row cover - he'll be looking after Charlie Kay and Matt Baggs whose combined age is less than "Crazy Craig's."
It's an interesting match up with both clubs winning one game out of the first three. Consett have earned two try bonus points so are one place above West in sixth place. Interestingly both clubs have faced Morpeth and both lost 27-23.
The Stags have a familiar looking line-up with a mix of experience and youth and will be looking for their first win in CaNDY Two South.
