Both teams ran in some entertaining tries with the Stags always in the lead. That was despite a late rally from the Georgians, which saw them close the gap to just four pointss before prop Adam Hutchinson sealed the win with a well worked try in the last few minutes.
The Stags had gone in at half-time leading 26-12 thanks to tries from Tom Shaw, Nick Bennions and a vintage effort from Martin Todd who slalomed his way to the line after a catch and drive. The fourth try came courtesy of a swift finish from Lewis Scott who took a high cross-kick from birrthday boy Matty Baggs.
The pair combined again after the break to take the score to 33-19 with Hutchinson getting his first ty of the afternoon finishing in style tfrom he 22.
Flanker Charlie Kay was the Stags' Man of the Match with Zac Southern finishing the game with six conversions.
