West led 17-12 at the break courtesy of a brace from Max Tennant and one from Kieran Scollay. Corbett and Jake Linighan were among the many half-time changes with the home XV then scoring twice to take the lead with the score at 24-17 in their favour. However, Hildicth was alert to take an interception close to his own line and he couldn't be caught on his way to take the score to 22-22.
Will Corbett then crowned his return to action with the winning try from close range in the dying minutes.
To end a successful afternoon West also won the Boat Race with Charlie Caswell on top form.
