The Stags started quickly with Owen Nugent breaking through from the kick off to steal the Guisborough ball and cross the whitewash for the first time of the afternoon.
Unconverted 5 – 0.
We had a couple more chances were handling and trying to rush things led to errors, but a well worked try saw Jordan Painter dash up the wing to make it 10 – 0, unconverted.
Spud was on fire like a tackling machine, often making a tackle and getting up and making the next.
Clurgy made a break and got the ball out to Greg who sent Toddy in, converted by Baggs. 17 – 0.
Guisborough got one back after a scrum penalty, but it went unconverted. Bennion’s having an enforced 10 mins. 17 – 5.
As mentioned, Spud was like a man possessed and was making a break with ball in hand. Unfortunately, he remained very upright as did the Guisborough defender he collided with. He will be missing the next few weeks with a concussion, hopefully he missed the rave he was going to Sunday too and the Guisborough player had an enforced 10 minute rest.
We cleared up the pitch and won the lineout, a catch and drive saw Owen Nugent the beneficiary of a second try for the afternoon, Baggs converted 24 – 5.
Half Time – notes get pretty vague here from Mrs T, she must have been thinking about us going to Alton Towers the next day.
The second half started with a try from Matty Baggs, who had kept nudging the ball up the pitch to score, he also converted it. 31 – 5
A well worked try from Owen Nugent to Clurgy who got the ball out to Jay Anderson. Clurgy must have been worried about getting the jugs in. Unconverted, 36-5.

Pikey then got one with a burst up the wing, converted. 50 – 5.

A hard working Clurgy was voted Man of the Match from Guisborough, but there was an unsung hero of the afternoon. Tom Robertson put in a mega shift and played across three different positions. Bravo Tom!
The lads played well, but there are still things to work on in training as we go into the next few matches.
