We were missing Allan Milne who pulled out with a hamstring strain, Stu Bennett and Martin Todd. Worse still Henry Tones injured  a shoulder while Peter Hodgson and Darren Thomas both limped off. Paul Moss came in at centre with Dan Abrahams returning on the wing. Both doing all that could be expected of them.

Former Colts Steve Clayton and Ben Wilson also came on second half for a baptism of fire.

Hopdgson had tackled his socks off with Tones and Tim Sawyer not far behind but Hull just had too much pace and ower in midfield. They were 41-3 ahead at half time with Davy Tighe getting our points from a 25 metre penalty in front of the posts.

Henry scored our consolation try in the second half after Tim Sawyer broke from a scrum. He had crossed the line seeonds earlier onlky to be held up and this time some refs might have thought he had failed to ground the ball properly. Still he and his teammates deserves a scorer for the graft they pout in on a red hot and muggy day against a side which could well go straight up from North One.
