Medicals are always an unknown quantity with their core of home grown players bolstered by students. They got off to a great start, but have now lost two of their five games - at Sunderland (32-17) last time out and at Novos (27-24). As a result they're in fourth place with 16 points - some eight behind West.
The corresponding fixture back in March was an entertaining affair on a blustery day with the sides sharing ten tries. It wasn't a day for kickers but Medicals managed two to West's one thereby winning the game 29-27.
The two week break from league action hasn't helped skipper Ryan Painter recover from his shoulder injury, so Sam Heron and Matt Siddle continue their half-back partnership. Davy Heckles will lead the side.
There are also changes in the pack with Michael Hogan away on Godfather duties at a christening- Tom Robertson returning to partner Jake Linighan in the second row.
Adam Hutchinson also returns in the front row with the back row unchanged.
With the fast improving Stags without a game this week the coaches were presented with a feast of replacement riches. Jack Angus will provide front row cover, Will Corbett the back five and young Charlie Kay cover across the park.
