Two challenging warm-up games lie in store as the Firsts gear up for the new season in the new Counties 1 Durham and Northumberland league ...

A trip to West Leeds is up first on Saturday August 13th with a lunchtime kick off against the Counties 1 Yorkshire club. That will allow the lads to do some team bonding by embarking on the "Otley Run" - although they're only likely to visit half of the 15 clubs on the famed challenge.

The following week Regional Two club Penrith will be the visitors to Brinkburn

The various county Cups will now be staged mid-season, so there's no game on August Bank Holiday, with the pipeopener to the new league at Brinkburn on Saturday September 3rd when newly promoted Darlington will be the visitors.

A new RFU league structure means there will be two fewer teams in the leagues at Level 7 which, as a result, is due to end on March 11th followed by a national cup competiton. It will be based on a "waterfall" knock-out system i.e. lose your first game and you'll be in the Plate, Vase etc.
