We lost strong running Owen Nugent with a hamstring injury shortly before the half hour, Up until then he had a great performance and will continue to grow as the season progresses.

James Tyers replaced him with Tom Robertson, who tackled hard all game, moving to the back row.

West we’re unlucky not to add to the score line with long periods of pressure on the Park line.

We held of a further Park attack to hold the score 12-3 at half time.

Park added two unconverted tries straight after the break taking the score to 22-3.

With Sam Heron moving to Fly half West pressured the Park defence and following a line out take by Alex Barker, Ryan Painter took the ball from the back of the Maul along the touch line to score.

This lifted the West side and we’re unlucky not to add to the Score when after a strong run from Will Hilditch the Pass to Isaac Robinson went astray.

Shortly after Adam Hutchinson added to the score line following a line out just short of the Park line. Zac adding the extras - 22-15

Minutes later Zac added a Penalty taking the score 22-18.

Park fought back adding two converted tries in quick succession taking the score to 36 - 18.

An injury to Isaac Robinson led to further changes with Adam Brown moving to Number 8.

With the time ticking down Sam Heron made touch just short of the Park line. The line out was taken by Jake Linighan but the resulting ruck was turned over by Park. A loose ball was collected by James Tyers and following g a strong run by Craig Hadwen, Ryan painter nipped over to get his second of the day.

In the dying minutes with the possibility of 2 bonus points West again attacked the park line following a line out take from Jake Linighan - 7 phases of play saw the ball reach Sam Heron who believed he had grounded the ball on the line, only for it to be disallowed.

Park we’re awarded a goal line drop out which they kicked to touch and the ref blew full time leaving the visiting players & supporters to object as they believed they should have been awarded a five metre scrum. Let’s hope the 2 points don’t make the difference come April.

Overall a good performance to build on against a side which will be hard to beat this season - Percy Park coaches did pay us the compliment that we are possibly the best side they have come across so far.
