Adam Brown is doing the Great North Run on Sunday to raise money for the British Heart Foundation - in typical Browny fashion he has kept it quiet until now. He wants to raise £500 and you can help him via his Just Giving page
Alex Barker is another forward who can be relied on to do more than his bit for the team and the club - including coming back from a nasty dislocated finger in a warm-up game to take on Peterlee and Horden in last week's opening league game.
He won't be available this weekend, for once, as he's doing a tough 13 peak challenge in the Lake District to raise money for wounded servicemen.
Barks says: " I'll be doing it with a couple of former servicemen who I work with. I’m aiming to hit £500 target and all help would be appreciated.
"I regularly describe climbing Scafell Pike on its own as the worst experience of my life. I hope to be slightly more prepared and equipped for this effort. but nonetheless expect to be miserable for the whole experience."
