The pitch was in remarkably good nick considering the frost and snow of the previous day. And, despite the conditions, the game once again attracted a big crowd with no shortage of players from from both clubs keen to take part That included Jonny Boatman, Martin Todd, Rob Thorn and Luke Chapman for West - the latter distinguishing himself with a yellow card for a late hit just three seconds after he came on at at the start of the second half. The Heughers had taken an early lead with Rob Thorn (left) getting one back for the Stags in typical style. |

The Heughers came back and were 19-5 up at half time. However, they were down to 14 men after one of their wingers fell out with Jordan Foulds. "Mad Dog" got himself on the scoresheet (left) in the second half as the Stags battled away. However, lack of control close to the line was to let them down on more than one occasion as the Heughers refused to let the trophy slip out of their hands |

Callum Johnston provided brief hope that the Stags may at least draw level when he finished off in the corner, but the 14 men were able to hold out quite comfortably for a deserved win. |
