The East Yorkshire side are seven points ahead of West with three games to go - and even if they lose at Brinkburn will still be clear favourites for the single promotion spot.
After two wins on the road - where we came back from 15-0 down in both games - we are looking to at least hold on to the play-off place. That, by the way, would offer the prospect of a showdown at Birkenhead Park on April 29th to decide who will be promoted to the National leagues.
Both Penrith and Alnwick are waiting to pounce with the Cumbrians five points behind and no doubt confident about their trip to struggling Guisborough this week.
So it's all set up for an exciting finale. We go into the Pocklington game on the back of a tremendous last 20 minutes at Morpeth where we scored three tries to overhaul our hosts - winning 17-15 with a superb last ditch conversion from Gavin Painter.
He will be one of handful of players who will have something to prove against Pocklington - having suffered our biggest defeat for many seasons at Percy Road back in November when we went down 52-5.
An already depleted squad was hit on the day by illness to skipper Dan Boatman and winger Will Hilditch. To make matters worse Gav retired at half time with a badly gashed arm, quickly followed by Zac Southern and John Bunter. After a well contested first half the floodgates opened with Pock aggressive at the breakdown and ruthless in their finishing.
However, their success has been built on excellent defence. They conceded a try in their win at Dinnington last week - their first in more than nine hours of rugby. Unfortunately, full back Jack Fletcher broke his leg in that game and we wish him a full and speedy recovery
We go into the game without Sam Miller, who has not yet recovered from his ankle injury, Greg Edwads and Alex Barker who was excellent as a replacement at Morpet but is away for a few weeks. Aaron Myers starts in Sam's place with Danny Boatman moving up to partner John Bunter.
