The coaches haver never hesitated in giving youth its chance with Matty already showing what he can do in the County Cup victory over City. His pedigree thanks to grandad Arty and dad Michael is also pretty solid.

Checksfield, of course, is now pretty experienced for his tender years, and will be looking to achieve his aim of ending the season as top try scorer - a friendly rivalry with Sam Miller who has been on top form for the last couple of weels but who misses this week thanks to a back injury.

Whether he achieves his aim may be in the hands of others. The winger cum centre's progress being noted by Falcons, where he is training every Thursday, as well as being a part of the Scottish Exiles Under 18's squad.

Aaaron Myers and Joe Rafferty are also away for a couple of weeks, but fortunately John Bunter returns after missing last week's first season defeat at Alnwick. Adam Coates is also back after his sojourn to the smoke, but Michael Hogan is still struggling with a shoulder injury and misses.

Fortunately the competition for places in the pack has been one of the highglights of the season with Alex Barker  and Jay Corbett stepping up to the mark and both take their places in the starting line-up.

They'll face a Morpeth side which won both games last season - bossing the game at Mitford Road and taking their chances at Brinkburn. They only lost at Alnwick a couple of weeks ago to a late penalty and are sitting comfortably in  mid-table having won five and lost five.
