Morley Preview
It's third v second at Brinkburn as Morley arrive having lost only once so far this season - and that was a narrow defeat at leaders Doncaster Phoenix ..

By comparison we have lost five games and as a result go into the game seven points behind, and with Morley having two postponed games in hand against Beverley and Guisborough, which they are clear favourites to win.

Regardless, the intention is not to lose at Brinkburn again this season - or anywhere else with a bit of luck.

We go into the game without prop Michael Hogan, who has been one of the stand-out players so far, and bring in former skipper Anth Carr to provide front row cover.

Adam Coates is fit again after coming on to score a great try at Kingston Park last week when he ran a superb line to get our second try of the afternoon. This week he starts in the front row alongside Jack Angus and Andrew Rollins.

We will also have the luxury of having  Aaron Myers available for the second week in a row. He formed a dynamic partnership with Liam Bailey and Sam Miller in a back row which was outstanding on the artificial surface at Kingston Park. It was a game marked  by a lot of whistle, but we were good value for the  22-3 win and should really have gone to get a try bonus point after dominating the second half.

As a result we are unbeaten in 2016. By comparison Morley haven’t played since December 19th when they hammered Percy Park, decimated by Christmas cry offs,  scoring 50 points in the process.

Our first encounter at Scatcherd Lane saw the home side running out 25-21 winners. We had a number of goes at getting the winning score but a valiant rearguard action in the dying minutes kept our forwards out.

Both sides were missing some key players that day  - including West skipper Dan Boatman and Morley's South African full back Dante van der Merwe - so this encounter promises to be an interesting one.

West: Stu Waites, Joe Willis, Eldon Myers, Peter Youll, Scott Butcher, Gavin Painter, Ryan Painter, Adam Coates, Andrew Rollins, Owen Bennett, Dan Boatman (capt), Liam Bailey, Aaron Myers, Sam Miller.

Reps; Anth Carr, Joe Rafferty, Greg Edwards.

Morley: Dante van der Merwe, Iain Sim, Richard Knowles, Laurence Frantzis, Karl Bradshaw, Mark Chester (captain), Kenny Sewell, Alan Benn, Mike Ashford, Ben Bell, Christian Head, Sam Brown, Luke Watts, Ollie Flegg, Will Smyth.

Reps: James Dinsdale, Tom Richmond, Scott Glynn.

Good luck WEST and hopefully a good winning performance to keep this year going strong even without performing as well as we can. Should be a cracking game I reckon!!
