Morpeth Preview
Youth gets its chance once again at Morpeth as a host of injuries keep out some of the more established players ..

Stu Waites, Adam Coates and Zac Southern have now been joined in the physio room by Sam Miller who has an ankle injury.

However, Liam Bailey return from his World Cup break and he will join Chris Atkins in the back row with skipper Danny Boatman moving to No 8 in place of Miller.

That is the major change to the starting line-up  which could have beaten Doncaster Phoenix last time out. The others are all on the bench where Jack Angus returns to provide front row cover and young CeeJay Beales makes his first senior start of the season.

The backs line -up the same as last week with Joe Willis (pictured) continuing to benefit from his exposure to senior rugby.

His pace has seen him running in the tries for the Stags, and he will be joined on the bench by another exciting prospect in Connor McLurg.

"Young Clergy" has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the Stags pack - partly thanks to the fact he hardly misses a training session. A classic case of put the effort in and the reward will come.

Morpeth always kick off their winter games at 2.00, which is a sensible move considering the gloom we've had this week

They came up via the play-offs last season but, of course, have  been  regular opposition over recent seasons. If we havent been in the same league we've enjoyed playing them in pre-season games.

They're going well. They have yet to be beaten at home and are the only side so far to stop second placed Morley from winning when they shared the spoils 15-15 at Mitford Road.

West: Luke Mallinson, Joe Willis. Greg Edwards, Peter Youll, Scott Butcher, Gavin Painter, Ryan Painter, Michael Hogan, Andrew Rollins, Ross Wood,. Joe Rafferty, Owen Bennett, Liam Bailey, Chris Atkins, Dan Boatman (captain).

Reps: Jack Angus, Connor McLurg, CeeJay Beales.

Good to see lads being rewarded for their hard work. By my reckoning we are missing A. Myers, E. Myers, Waites, Southern, Coates and Thorn so we need that strength in depth., Good luck lads.

Classic case of putting the effort in, I like it
