Doncaster Phoenix Preview
Unbeaten Doncaster Phoenix head for Brinkburn for a 2.00 kick off to allow us all to also watch the All Blacks v Boks semi-final which kicks off at 4.00 ...

They  will take on a West side with some enforced changes from the narrow defeat at Alnwick last week where both Stuart Waites (shoulder) and Zac Southern (knee) received injuries.

We were already going to be without mercurial back rows Aaron Myers and Liam Bailey. Myers is working abroad while Bailey is at the semi-final.

Greg Edwards comes in for Stu with Rob Thorn providing backs cover after his four tries at Horden for the Stags last week. Luke Mallinson finished last week's game at fullback and he'll start there this week with Joe Willis continuing on the wing after scoring his debut league try last week.

In the forwards Joe Rafferty comes into the second row allowing Chris Atkins to drop into the back row.  Adam Coates has missed the last few games with a foot injury, but managed a late call-up at Horden, and he will be among the replacements.

Danny Boatman returns to the starting line-up to lead the side, which will need to be firing on all cylinders to defeat a club which is being backed by Championship club Doncaster Knights to move up the leagues as quickly as possible.

As a result their side contains a number of seasoned players with higher league experience, together with a number of youngsters who are being seen as prospects for the future.

Phoenix shot through Yorkshire One last season, and look like doing the same this time around with the likes of ex-Falcon Rob Devonshire in the back row, and former London Irish fly half Jamie Lennard calling the shots.

West: Luke Mallinson, Joe Willis, Greg Edwards, Peter Youll, Scott Butcher, Gavin Painter, Ryan Painter, Michael Hogan, Andrew Rollins, Ross Wood, Joe Rafferty, Chris Atkins, Dan Boatman (captain), Sam Milller. Replacements: Adam Coates, Rob Thorn,  Jay Corbett.
