Fortunately, we go into the game without any danger of relegation following last week's hard work at Bradford and Bingley.

In fact, we are now some 12 points clear of the third bottom place and chasing down an acceptable top half place. That would have been easily achieved if we had had anything like a reasonable number of bonus points, and we had got more points from those strange back to back games against Northern and Horden.

This time last year we were third top so in one sense we have gone backwards. But this is a team in transition. The squad has been the youngest for some time - specially when the influence of Owen Bennett has been missing.

We have some good young props getting valuable experience in the shape of Ross Wood and Jack Angus, forwards like Chris Atkins maturing fast and gaining the confidence to win Man of the Match awards, and players like Liam Bailey successfully making the transition to a new position.

At the same time out top try score, Sam Miller, is still only 19.

In the backs Zac Southern has made great progress and has slotted some tremendous conversions, while youngsters Kyle Jamieson and Callum Johnston are growing into their roles as much as they are filling out physically.

Scott Butcher and Peter Youll both now have the experience to make a big impact on games with their tackling - one of the main features of our recent success as fancied sides have found it impossiible to make progress with the ball.

And finally, massive credit has to go skipper Danny Boatman who has led by example all season. He has hit peak form in the last two months while rallying his troops following those two defeats by Northern and Horden.

As a result the team can go to second placed Sheffield on the back of a five game unbeaten run in league and cup.

Our hosts will be desperate for the win just in case Ilkley slip up at home to Pocklington.  The likely scenario is that Sheff will have to go to Kirkby Lonsdale in the play offs as Ilkley are the current form team in the league (we are next) and are three points ahead.

There are some enforced changes with Ian Pinchen and Liam Bailey both unavailable. Jack Angus and Ross Wood continue in the front row with Chris Atkins dropping into the back row and Michael Hogan coming in to partner Owen Bennett.

Ryan Painter has returned unscathed from his ski-ing holiday so he will be at scrum half with Stu Waites back at 10.
