Driffield Preview
Eldon Myers make his first team debut in the side which very much needs to get back on track after a couple of lack lustre games where we failed to take the points on offer. (Kick off 2.15) .

The 19 year old has already represented the Royal Navy against the Army at Twickenham, and comes straight into the side in the absence of Kyle Jamieson and Luke Mallinson. Callum Johnston will be on the other wing.

Up front Ian Pinchen has work commitments so Adam Coates starts in the front row with Michael Hogan providing cover from the bench.

Otherwise, its the same side which narrowly lost the last two games - as a result the rest of the season has a distinctive edge to it.

The last time out at Brinkburn we lost 9-3 to Northern despite having domination in the scrums. The general agreement after that game was we should have been awarded a couple of penalty tries, but we camped out long enough on their line to have scored three or four without assistance from the Ref.

We could also have won the game at Horden. The home side played out of their skins, as expected, but having clawed our way back from a 21-0 deficit to take the lead we had chances to go on and win.

By comparison Driffield have run into a rich vein of form having won their last five games to get themselves out of the relegation zone. They've added a couple of Aussies to their team and won at Northern last time out -  since the turn of the year have also won at Wheatley Hills and Dinnington.

Plenty of effort and steady heads are called for.

West: Zac Southern, Eldon Myers, Scott Butcher, Peter Youll, Callum Johnston. Stu Waites, Ryan Painter, Ross Wood, Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates, Owen Bennett, Chris Atkins, Liam Bailey, Dan Boatman (c), Sam Miller.

Driffield: Sam Furbank, Ben Blacker, Joe Robinson, Alex Piercey, Rob Murray, Col Lucas, Josh Holman, Dave Llewellyn, Guy Brumfield, Paul Dervey (c), Oli Borman, Oli Cooper, Grant Staples, Josh Parker, Ed Falkingham.

Reps: Simon Pettinger, George Mewburn, Jeremy Harrison.

Every team goes through a bad spell and a time when luck doesn't for you. The only way to sort it is to get on the pitch work hard and support each other.
So let's do that tomorrow.
