The 32 year old was fulsome in his praise for the family ethos at West, and promised that despite the family coming from Wearside future generations of Boatmans would always look on West as their club. He also promised to continue making his contribution to the club off the pitch as well as the odd appearance for the Stags - a prospect which delighted Carlo Robisnon who made a highly entertaining debut as presenter of the awards to the Stags. Club President Dave Stubbs was guest speaker, and if he didn't already have a demanding day job he could well find a role in the new West comedy club. The players also made their own presentations to those who had helped them through a very competitive season which saw the first team finish a very creditable third in North One East. That included head chef Steve "Elmo" Wilkinson and phsyio Mike Geritz - unfortunately neither could make the dinner
