They started the season with an eight point deduction - if that hadn't been the case 'Dale would currently be in second position.

The first team has effectively "taken one for the club" after an underage player turned out for the fourths last season. He'd told the team skipper he was of age and was almost loaned to the opposition who were also short. A harsh lesson and a warning to all of us.

As a result 'Dale are one place and two points behind us.

They arrive having scored 99 points in the last two games - 57-28 at Alnwick and 42-5 at home to Wheatley Hills last week while we left our fightback too late at Malton & Norton going down 25-21.

The first game between the two sides was pretty even in the first half, but a combination of yellow cards and the home side's excellent line-out eventually saw them run in a couple of late tries for a well deserved 26-3 victory.

This week Andy Cheslin returns in place of Greg Edwards, who underwent an ankle operation during the week, while brother Colin resumes at full back.

The pack is the same as the one which eventually got on top at Malton with the exception of the promising Jack Angus who is away on County duty. Fortunately, Andy Turner has recovered from his rib injury and returns on the bench alongside Andrew Dixon and Davy Tighe.
