Wheatley Hills Preview
Pinchen
It's WHRUFC v WHRFC in Doncaster this week with a slightly changed West eager to put the last two away day losses behind them ...

Both Owen Bennett and Michael Hogan have other commitments at Twickers this weekend so skipper Dan Boatman moves into the second row alongside Andy Robson. Chris Atkins starts in the back row where Andy Turner is making his first start.

Thomas Shaw becomes the latest teenager to get a taste of first team action. The second row will be on the bench.

Otherwise it's the same side which put seven tries on Alnwick last week just one week after the Northumbrians had secured a rare victory - against Wheatley Hills.

North One East is certainly more open than usual this season with Wheatley Hill's erratic form one of the biggest surprises. However, out of ther seven games so far only two games have been at home - a victory against Boro and a defeat by Rochdale.

They did start a third home game, against Cleckheaton, but that was abandoned when the referee broke a leg after becoming tangled up in the play.

Hills are an experienced outfit and in veteran No 8 Gaz Burns have the league's leading try scorer thanks to his ability to cross the line from close range. He scored a hat trick in last week's 37-7 victory at Sheffield, but despite his haul of 13 tries from seven games his side are only in seventh place with 17 points.

We will be looking to build on the dynamic perfromance against Alnwick  Both Iain Dixon and Peter Robinson agreed that the first half performance was our best to date with the likes of Ian Pinchen and Andrew Cheslin having their best games so far so this season.

Having lost on our travels to both Rochdale and Cleckheaton we will certainly need to take our home form down the A1.

West:  Luke Mallinson, Scott Butcher,  Andrew Cheslin, Liam Bailey, Peter Youll,  Stu Waites, Ryan Painter, Ian Pinchen,  Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates,  Andy Robson, Dan Boatman [c], Andy Turner, Chris Atkins,   Jon Boatman

Reps: Andrew Dixon, Colin Cheslin, Thomas Shaw..

Good luck to WEST today!! A difficult fixture for any team any time. A win should be possible but MUST come away with some points. Presuming our guys have not been brought into an England back up squad it seems a strange decision during the season!!! Sure the guys coming in will perform more than adequately. Hope the other teams involved in games this weekend have a successful and enjoyable game.
