The Northumbrians arrive for the last of the 3.00 kick offs this year with a reputation for playing open rugby thanks to a lively set of backs. Any side which makes a winger their skipper obviously likes to get the ball out.
They're in tenth place with two wins under their belt including a 14-8 victory over Wheatley Hills last week.
We come into the game after a hard fought defeat at Cleckheaton last week mainly thanks to the home side's mastery of the catch and drive.
It was a much better better West performance than the previous defeat at Rochdale, and we will be looking to put that defeat behind us against Alnwick while keeping an interested eye on the game at Huddersfield YMCA against Cleck.
There are some enforced changes from last week with Ian Pinchen returning in place of the injured Ross Wood and Luke Mallinson coming back in for Colin Cheslin at full back. Scott Butcher returns from holiday to take his place on the wing in place of Greg Edwards who has taken his turn for a bit of rest and relaxation.
There is also a debut on the bench for half back Kyle Jamieson. The 17 year old is the latest to get his taste of league rugby following an excellent try scoring debut by back row Andrew Turner last week.
Andy is down for a full game with the Stags this week with Chris Atkins moving back into the first team squad where his line-out skills may prove useful. He has also impressed with his work rate in the games he's played so far this season.
