Waites
Stu Waites returns to the team which travels to fellow high flyers Cleckheaton.  Stu was rested last week to allow a niggling injury to recover and to give an opportunity to the "up and coming" Davy Tighe to show what he could do ...

As ever Davy did not let the club down, but he won't be too upset that this Saturday he will be back to planning a training session for his team of 7 year olds on Sunday morning.

The other changes in the side see the return of Ross Wood, with Ian Pinchen unavailable because of work commitments, and Colin Cheslin at full back. The versatile Luke Mallinson drops down to the bench to porvide the backs cover.

Othwerwise it's the same side which prevented Driffield from scoring a point last week. That win went to some way to exorcising the memory of the dour performance at Rochdale - our first defeat in any game this season.

There were lessons to be learnt from that game - but not by the coaches. Neither Iain Dixon nor Peter Robinson could make the Rochdale game because of other commitments, but they did have very able stand-ins in the shape of Kevan Oliphant, Phil Wallis and Carl Robinson.

Cleck will provide very similar tough opposition. They are unbeaten so far including last week's abandoned game at Wheatley Hills where referee Simon Park suffured a fractured leg after getting in the way of the home pack.  The score was 0-0 after just ten minutes when the accident happened, and the game will now be replayed in November.

Cleckheaton: Ross Hayden, James  Wilson, James Marshall, Matt Piper, Martin Woodhead; Michael Piper, Jack Bickerdike; Paul Turner, Ben Thrower, Chris Piper, Ryan Piercy, Grant Turton, Rob Afoa Peterson, Richard Piper, Ollie Akroyd.

Reps: Andy Piper, Alex Dawson, Robin Bennett.

West:  Colin Cheslin, Greg Edwards,  Andrew Cheslin, Liam Bailey, Peter Youll,  Stu Waites, Ryan Painter, Ross Wood,  Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates,  Michael Hogan,  Owen Bennett,  Dan Boatman [c],  Jon Boatman, Sam Miller.

Reps: Andrew Dixon, Andrew Turner, Luke Mallinson.

Interesting game this one.It could be argued that although it is early days both sides have played teams who are in the bottom half with the notable exception of Rochdale who were docked points.

Interesting game indeed!! If last weeks second half performance can be built on we should come away with a better result than that at Rochdale. Hopefully some points in the bag and these are games we should really be judging our performance against. Good luck to WEST today once again as I am back in the sunnier warmer climes of Abu Dhabi. Good to be back to see and meet up with some old mates, good to see you all, and to see a recovery performance. Let's keep up the go forward seen as last weeks game progressed.
