Currently we are in the worst position, but it is surprising what five points for a win can achieve.

Sandal won't be the easiest of opposition to achieve that vital win.They are unbeaten in eight games and have a lethal weapon in full back Tom Coad who relishes wayward kicks.

But we proved last week at Percy Park that we can compete with teams in the top half. We dominated up front for at least half the game only to spurn several excellent try scoring chances before gifting them two daft second half tries, which gave the scoreline a bit of an unreal complexion.

The coaches give that side a pat on the back by selecting them to start the game, with only one enforced change as Scott Butcher returns for the injured Tom Armstrong.

There's welcome news on the bench with the return of Andrew Cheslin after his unfortunate suspension. This was after a still photograph produced by Chester showed his hand "dangerously" close to the eyes of one of their players back in September. The video showed that no injury had been made and the player made no complaint or even rubbed his face.

Of course, Andrew Rollins was banned for an even more contentious bit of footage in the same game and he won't be back until the end of next month.

Adam Coates is also back after his break in Florida. He will no doubt be an active replacement off the bench where he'll be joined by Jay Corbett who is making his home debut for the firsts.

Last week's side was one of the youngest we have fielded, but they stuck to their task manfully and played some good rugby - specially in the tight.

There's been good numbers out at training this week with 34 taking part last night. For once, it was a shortage of coaches, through work commitments and illness, which affected the session.
