"Disco" went down in the 60th minute as he broke from his own half, and a Rossendale player was yellow carded for not tackling with his arms.
After receiving treatment on the pitch the popular No.8 was able to hobble off but was advised to get an x-ray which revealed a broken fibia. As a result he'll be in plaster for six weeks.
Director of Rugby Kevan Oliphant says: "It's obviously bad new for the club as Disco had been one of our better players in his first season at West.
"However, it is much worse for him personally as he is now unable to work and, of course, Christmas is coming up. The job he was doing required him to be on his feet all day, so now we're hoping we can help him to find a desk based type job at least while he is recovering."
