Rossendale Preview
Painter
Ryan Painter returns to scrum half in place of the injured Andrew Foreman for the visit of Rossendale. [Kick off 2.15]. Colin Cheslin is fit again so reumes at full back allowing David Heckles to partner Luke Watson at centre with Scott Butcher returning on the wing.

In the forwards skipper Danny Boatmn returns after his nuptials, and Ian Pinchen is available to start in the front row.

Those are the major changes to the side which had more than enough possession at Penrith to win two games - only to lose to two late sucker punch tries.

Hopefully lessons will have been learnt from the full 20 minutes we spent camped in the home 22 at Winters Park -  there has been a long fortnight in which to reflect on that missed opportunity.

The result of that defeat was that we slipped back into the relegation zone, but in the next three games we have the opportunity  to move up the table.

After Rossendale we host Waterloo before travelling to Lymm who are also both in a very congested mid-table. Other sides around us face the same kind of fixtures we did at the start of the season against the likes of Chester, Harrogate and Sandal.

There were enough players at training last night to finish the session with a full 15 a side practice game so the preparation is starting to improve.

Rossendale started the season as one of the favourites for promotion, after being very comeptitive last season specially on their own heavy pitch. Like us they were hit by early season injuries, but things have improved in the last month and they have won their last two games against Waterloo and Penrith. As a result they are now in 6th place.

Both those redcent victories were at home and Dale have only won one away game so far. That was at Kendal, but one notable feature has been the number of high scoring games in which they they have been involved. Young winger Sam Lothian has already manasged to get over the line  11 times - only Chester's Lloyd Hayes has scored more.

West: Colin Cheslin, Scott Butcher, David Heckles, Luke Watson, Steve Jones, Stu Waites, Ryan Painter, Ian Pinchen, Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates, Andrew Davies, Michaele Hogan,  Nathan Myers, Dan Boatman [capt], Jon Boatman, Stewart Grazier, Andrew Dixon, Peter Youll.

If we keep on improving then the results will start to come. We certainly need two wins out of the next three games if we are to keep out of trouble so let's have maximum effort from all 18 lads and play some heads up rugby.

Good luck to all of our sides tomorrow. 4 home games - where will we put everybody?
