They went down with Kendal who were beaten more easily than the scoreline suggests at Brinkburn last week. We will be looking to take that improvement in form into a game against a side who have won steadily, if not spectacularly, so far.
The feature of last week's game was the tackling with the likes of Michael Hogan doing more than his fair share of graft. Michael would probably have been in the side on merit after his performance last week, but selection has been made easier by the departure of Craig Gilmour as well as the continued absence of Tom Dixon - despite yours truly being his kit sponsor for this season.
Gilly has returned to Horden after putting in some memorable performances for West. But, following his nasty shoulder injury last year, he has struggled to maintain the training regime required to play week in week out in the national leagues. He's been a very popular character and we wish him and Horden all the best.
The pack is unchanged after a dominant performance last week which finally gave the backs a chance to show their talents. All four tries came from the back division inclduing a trademark forty meter burst from Andrew Foreman.
Such is the balance of the back line that Foreman has been used as the man who can brought off the bench to do a job in any positijon in the backs. Ryan Painter is unavailable this week so Andrew starts in his favoured scrum half position, with Martin Boatman or Tom Armstrong on the bench as backs cover.
David Heckles has recovered from a knock to return at full back while Steve Jones is carrying a few knocks from last week and is replaced by fit again Colin Cheslin.
Harrogate are as keen to get out of this division as they are to sell off their Claro Road ground to use the proceeds to establish a new future elsewhere in the town. Their planning saga seems to have been running longer than Emmerdale.
Like Chester they make no secrets of their ambitions for this season, but by their own admittance have found none of the games easy so far.
