Hythe 1's vs Sway 1's

Hythe 1's Shock Leader Sway

An Excellent all round performance enabled Hythe 1’s to overcome a very good Sway team to their first defeat of the season.

Hythe and Dibden won the toss and Matt Young asked Sway to bat first. It looked as if Sway would score a large total when their openers put on 70 for the first wicket. Both openers Clark and Hall retired at 25 but then things turned in Hythes favour – the last 4 batsmen scoring 9 runs between them. Clark and Hall resumed but they too were soon out. Hythe bowled and fielded to a very good standard keeping Sway to 103.

Harry Smith and James Page opened for Hythe but Page was out for just 4. Guymer then joined Smith and they set about the Sway bowling Smith soon getting to 29 (with a six) and retired again. Guymer and Matt Howe then kept up the good scoring rate and eventually Guymer retired at 26. Matt Howe was then run out for a very good 16 when the score was on 91. Rob James 10* and Matt Young saw Hythe Home for a 4 wicket victory.

Thanks to Jonjo Stovell and Ewan Bell for umpiring and Scoring.
