Hythe 2's vs Fawley
| Hythe Too Strong For The Old Enemy |
Hythe 2's got off to a winning start in the Indoor League when they beat last years Division 3 Champions Fawley by 55 Runs
Hythe were put into bat by the Oilers lost Steve Miller 1 early stumped off the bowling of Freeman. Kev James and Ewan Bell steadied the ship both retiring on 25. Fawley fought back with a first baller for Mike Bowman but Simon Wright came in and played an important innings 43*. Saunders fell for 1 which brought Bell back to the crease but 2 runs later was run out for 27. Kev James 45* at the close. Hythe ended on a good score 151 for 4 - seeing off the dangerous Wayne Smith 0-41 off 3 in the process.
Hythe got off to a great start with the ball when Mike Bowman bowled John Doe first ball. Smith and Cox took the score to 43 before Cox fell for 13 Saunders taking a catch off Bowman. Wayne Smith retired on 25* but the rest of the Fawley batting struggled aginst some tidy bowling and fielding. Bowman took his third wicket when he bowled Rollinson for 0 and Fawley finished on 96 for 3.
Wrighty's three overs went for just 16 whilst Mike Bowman 3-21 deserves a mention.
So a great start and the 2's are up on court again next week against Sway 2's who Fawley beat in the first week.
Bellie would like to thank Matt Young for scoring and Woodsy for umpiring.
