HYTHE UNDER 11's vs HYDE

Loss Of Too Many Wickets Hythe's Downfall

Freddie MOLNEUX (14)

Hythe Under 11's went into Sundays game against Hyde on the back of a strong win the week before. Though without top marksman Jacob Mould they new the challenge of back to back wins was going to be tough

Hyde won the toss and elected to field first as showery rain fell over the Jones Lane ground. Hythe's first pair of Skipper Neal Reid (0) and Harry Swainston (0) scored 5 runs each but were both dismissed once through their four over spell to leave the young green caps at 200. Second pairing of Tom Ladbury and James Millyard finished on +5 thanks largely to Ladbury who scored (+7). Millyard scored 3 but was out once (-2.)

Hythe's third pairing of Tom Knight-Owen and Lewis Faye added another 7. Knight Owen finished on (+4) whilst Faye scored 13 but lost his wicket twice (+3)

Freddie Molyneux and Pieter Lever needed to up the pace if Hythe were to get to a decent score. Molyneux top scored with (+14) whislt Lever scored 13 but lost his wickt twice (-10). Hythe ending their innings on 263 for 7

The Hythe bowlers found the Hyde batsman in good form and batting responsibly. Only one wicket fell through the Hyde innings and that fell to a clean bowled from Pieter Lever. Harry Swainston 0-11 off 3 and Tom Knight-Owen 0-4 off 2 were Hythe's most economical bowlers but in the end Hyde proved too strong and scored 291 for 1 in reply.

The format now changes for Fridays cup game with Hyde - 11 a side and batsman if your out - thats it so practise your forward defensive.
