Baking hot summer but who cared Hythe & Dibden had reached the top of the tree - County 1 Champions winning 15 of their 16 games played and ending 24 points clear of Andover in second place. They also went onto win the Sydney Wyatt Cup as well beating Lymington in the final by 8 wickets.

Terry Rawlins (545) and skipper Brian Sexton (505) were responsible for most of the runs - both averages 45 for the season with the bat. George Knights also chipped in with a valuable(436) runs.

With the ball Terry Rawlins took 47 wickets at an average of 9.02, ably assisted by Phil Pick who claimed 38 wickets at 9.52.
