Those are the only changes to the side which huffed and puffed against Penrith after running in more than 100 points in the previous two games.

The coaches are currently looking at all permutations with an eye to next season and had Myers pencilled in for this game several weeks ago.

So Carl Miller has to be content with a place on the bench, despite an excellent all round show last week, while the likes of Henry Tones will no doubt be chewing wasps in training.

Whether young Myers gets a chance to shine must be in doubt. The New Friarage sits pretty low and we have now had a week of rain with conditions arguably far worse than they were when the Horden cup tie was cancelled. At least both sides, and Ref Mike Hodgson, are local so a decision can be delayed until late.

So far the triple crown series is all square. Both sides are capable of beating the top sides on their day but until last week we were on a more consistent run. There were a number of Rovers at Brinkburn to watch the Penrith game though most admitted they were only there for the quality of the beer.

They won't have learnt muchfrom that game anyway. And ,if the derby game goes ahead ,the chances are it'll be a battle of strength in the mud. Mr Lambert may be advised to take his umbrella.

If the game is off we will hopefully get a chance to see the Stags in action. They're at Mowden in the semi-final of the second XV County Cup - hard game in prospect but a win is not beyond the development side.
