It is not an exaggeration to say that Alan Brown has beaten us almost single handedly as he led Stockton to some unlikely victories .. and his ghost was still looming when we played them earlier this season!

Now he is at Number 8 for Darlington and, judging by the tries he is scoring, doing as well as ever.

At one stage during the summer there was a prospect that he would train with us and possibly play for us - and we could certainly have done with him at Beverley. But the back row is an area where we have a surfeit of young talent so let's hope that young legs eclipse experience on Saturday. One back row who will be missing is Aaron Myers. He is away saving himself with England Under 18's for the next few weeks in preparation for the Rovers game on March 11th.

Darlington are not taking any chances with a strong line-up named including "Fascinating Frankie" Coulson, the Lees in the backs and the likes of Ritchie Snowball and Del Lowes in the pack.

We will be missing the in form Martin Todd, who is away, but no doubt Danny Weegram will be grateful for the chance to have a first team runout. The coaches have named a squad, but it is likely that the starting line-up will be more or less the same as last week.
