Thomas was on the deck on the touchline with his opposite No 11 giving him a kick and the Stockport 12 looming over him. Tighe quickly jumped in and pushed the Stockport winger away and he half fell over the crowd barrier.
Tighe was given the red card and the Stockport winger was sin-binned.
The club's own disciplinary panel met last week to discuss the incident and took the view that the sending off was just punishment after hearing from those of us who were there.
