Seal of Approval
The club has today been officialy been given the RFU's Seal of Appoval. It is a tremendous achievement led by the Youth Section and, in particular, Mike Close and Tony Mills as well as Alan Jones who began the whole process.

Gaining the Seal of Approval will provide all sorts of opportunities for gaining RFU help in developing rugby within the club.

It is a complex process involving ensuring everything from safety to coaching and development plans arein place. Mike Close and Co have managed this while the club has had to re-establish itslef at Brinkburn and develop the Pavilion.

This is hpw the RFU descibes the iniatitive: "The RFU, in conjunction with Sport England, introduced the scheme in 2002 in an attempt to increase and sustain the number of youngsters participating in rugby at grass roots level. Clubs are assessed by the RFU and must demonstrate evidence of good practice in areas such as administration, development, duty of care, sports equity and playing programme."

With some 300 youngsters playing rugby West is by far the biggest youth oprganisation in the town. Our partnership with the Hartlepool Sixth Form College promises a healthy future for everyone involved.
