The game was spilt into four 20 minute quarters with the home side scoring tries in the first and last while we went ahead in e middle quarters thanks to similar sweeping moves up the left. First Peter Hodgson went over and then Danny Weegram. Davy Tighe managed one conversion while Broughton slotted both of theirs.
Unfortunately, Hodgy suffered a nasty dead leg which means he'll be out for a couple of weeks. Dan Boatman was a bit dazed after the game but travelled to Northampton for a Scottish Under 21 trial on Sunday.
On a hot day we could have done with some more subs, but the likes of hooker Phil Butler and Stags skipper Greg Edwards [forced to play centre] both did well. Allan Milne also looked sharp and Martin Todd, playing at full back for much of the game, did well under the high ball.
Jon Boatman was again outstanding but was si- binned for the use of the same foul language the Ref used in telling him to take a break. Well it was a pre-season warm up game!
