The 25 year winger has one of the best goal kicking records in the leagues and was at his first training session last night. Last season he was the top kicker in N2E amassing 176 points thanks to 58 conversions and 28 penalties. He has worked with our coaches before and contacted them at the weekend to say he wanted to switch clubs. Paul is concentrating on his career in management with Aldi but still wants to enjoy his rugby as a pure amateur..... before the question is asked on the message board! Sadly his first training session came to an end when physio Gez Geritz got to work on a shoulder strain suffered by humping boxes around at work. It is only a temporary setback! Paul is just one of a number of "new" faces at the club this close season. Only Dan Abrahams has left. Dan suffered a nasty shoulder injury while snowboarding last season and has joined Sunderland to give it a go this season. We wish him all the best. We also wish Carlo Robinsonn the best of luck on his return to action. The popular prop sat out all of last season with a shoulder injury, but has now been given the all clear to play and is starting his leg work in earnest. Utility forward Dave Garside is also looking strong in training alongside speedy winger Danny Weegram, another former West junior, who has been playing his rugby at Houghall. Paul "Tinker" Williamson at scrum half andf full back James Masshedar are also looking sharp on their return to West.Up and coming Colts props John Greenwell and Jonathan "Nogger" Norris are also among those looking the part in senior training together with team mates Chris Lambert [wing], Aaron Myers [back row] and Gav Robinson [fly half.]
