Like most clubs a shortage of front rows has hit some fixtures this season, but the side has clicked in the past few weeks thanks in no small part to the help of a couple of the West Amateurs. Graham Frankland has been providing the leadership and experience which the side has needed and they are now looking for a hat trick of back to back wins.
The arrival of the other Boatmans - Dan and Martin - has also helped and so has the return of some experienced players to the first team. It has meant the likes of Carl Miller being able to reinforce the Stags pack and, despite his tender years, bring some experience.
The first team coaches have been itching to see the Stags in competitive action with the likes of Paul Moss, Greg Edwards and Phil Gilbraith knocking on the first team door along with Dan Boatman.
Durham are one of the better second strings and Saturday will give the Stags a good shakedown before the BBOB Pyman cup clash on Wednesday April 13th.
