That means that both Paul Rudd and Martin Todd will have to be content with a place on the bench alongside Stuart Bennett.

The presence of those three puts pressure on the lads who start the game and, once Brett Cullinane returns from New Zealand in the New Year and Henry Tones returns, there will be even more pressure for places.

There's also pressure coming from the Stags who have an entertaining game at Brinkburn tomorrow for those of you who can't get to Driffield. Billingham are the visitors with a 2.15 kick off.

The Stags have a number of players who are knocking quite heavily on the first team dressing room door. Steve Clayton's impressive performance in the back row against Old Boys was definitely noted, while Greg Edwards is just as close and was on the first team bench last week. Paul Moss, Phil Gilbraith, Phil Butler and Will Richardson are others.

There will also be two more Boatman brothers on show for the Stags. Dan has been on the bench for the first team. His brother Martin has been away sailing for his country - but has been persuaded to take up rugby again at the age of 21.

But its the first team who need to get some points in the bag. At the moment we are still languishing in the bottom half of the table mainly thanks to two dreadfully lacklustre performances at Stockton and Morpeth.

Milne's return will give a much better balance to the backs, and provide his mate Peter Hodgson with the chance to move back to outside centre where he has such a good understanding with Allan.

Last week it was the pack who stole the show scoring all four tries against Alnwick who had only lost one game. They'll need to be on similar form against a young Driffiield side whose coach claimed they were the best in the league after they beat Huddersfield by 30 odd points a few weeks ago. I think Westoe might disagree with that remark, but you can see why he was pleased.

Driffield do go in for rotation but look to be missing their first choice half backs. Fly half Karl Birch, scrum half Tom Foster and full back Tiff Hughes have a North of England U 18 squad training weekend.
