Morley were forced into defensive mode from the start, and the majority of the first half was spent in their half of the pitch. They defended well, however, with their backs pushing the offside law to the limit, and West found it difficult to play fluent rugby. West threatened the Morley line on numerous occasions, but often failed to take the correct option, and the Leeds side continued to keep them out. West missed a couple of penalties, but eventually broke through when the ball went along the line for Luke Austin to score in the corner. Tom Dixon kicked an excellent conversion.
The second half continued in the same vein, and when Tom Barker and Stephen Short went over in the opening twelve minutes, with Dixon converting one, a big score looked likely, but the match degenerated in the closing twenty minutes, with a sequence of interruptions and messy play. Morley pulled a consolation try back, but West maintained their dominance for a 19-5 win in a match they never looked like losing.
A break from league action next week, as West travel to Gateshead Fell.

West maintained their unbeaten run with a convincing 19-5 victory in a fractious match at Scratcherd Lane against bogey side Morley.
Arron Myers, Michael Young and Arun Gupta were all unavailable, but Chris Lambert and Sean Cairns were back, and started at outside centre and No. 8 respectively.
