Planning Permission Granted

Planning Permission Granted
We have got Planning Permission to extend the main room at Brinkburn Pavilion and to relocate the lock-ups ... but we still have to go through some big hoops before we can actually do the work.

Basically, we need to find the resources to pay for a right turn road marking in Catcote Road for northbound traffic and, even more expensive, widen the road entrance to the car park to 12 metres.

We also need to provide 7 bicycle parking spaces. I am not kidding.

Only when that is done can we stop using a tent to feed visiting players [old and young] from all over the north. I am afraid that fact was picked up the Planning officers, after Stu Murray asked the Committee to allow us to go ahead with the portacabin extension without waiting for the new access, but not by the Councillors who got themselves confused between the Youthie and the Pavilion.

Still it could have been worse as one of them wanted another site visit which wuld have delayed things by another month.

It is frusrating but it is now imperative that we get on with finding the resources to get the roadworks done as quickly as possible.

Oh and one other thing. We have to dig the foundations by hand so as not to damage any tree roots.
