West Ams veteran Graham Frankland enjoyed his run out with West's young talent and said: "There were some very good performances with Chris Young looking very sharp on his return and other players such as Ben Wilson and Anth Williams also playing well. "There is a lot of talent coming through which is good for the club."

The Stags earned a creditable draw against an experienced Sunderland side. We were bolstered with half a dozen players from West Ams in a game which saw the return to rugby of Chris Young who missed the whole of last season with nerve damage to his leg following a break.
