Redcar Cup Game

Redcar Cup Game
We will be entertaining Redcar in the Brinkburn Centre this Saturday. Work is still continuing on the Pavilion and, in any case, we need to wait for the Hartlepool Planning Committee to meet on September 9th before going any further.

That's because we want to add two portacabins to the front of the building and some container lock-ups at the rear.

Unfortunately, we won't have any draught beer either because the new bar is being set up in the Pavilion but with Trophy Special, Banks's Smooth, Fosters and Stella Artois on offer it should be worth the wait!

One thing which should be ready is the pitch. It has been weeded and seeded and the rota we were working up for watering it during the long hot summer has not been needed! Hopefully, the rain relents enough to allow us to get the lush grass cut and the pitch marked.

The game itself will be a rare treat - proper touch judges [no offence to anyone at West] and no less than seven replacements. The winners will have the honour of moving onto the next round and a trip to either promoted Hull or promotion favourites Morpeth.

We will be without Carl Robinson, who is seeing a specialist over his troubled shoulder, and Chocky Davies who is banned until November. Phil Henderson who has been looking good in the second row in pre-season will also be on holiday.

Davy Tighe and Martin Todd may also be missing. Both were injured at Billingham - Toddy is the most unlikely having damaged ankle ligaments while Davy has tweaked his shoulder.
