Changes For Horden

The Valentines Day clash with Horden at Brinkburn [kick off 2.15] promises to be one of the most fascinating of the season. Our neighbours have got themselves in a spot of bother at the bottom of the league while we will almost certainly be making significant changes.

We are not yet safe and probably need one more win out of the last six games to make sure. When that happens it could be that some of the fast improving Stags will be given a couple of games to show their worth.

Players like Paul Moss, Greg Edwards and Steve Clayton may even figure before we are safe.

For their part Horden are looking for at least two wins our of their last six and should hopefully get them - but not on Saturday, of course. Our management is looking to put things right after the defeat at Welfare Park, which ranks alongside the Redcar defeat as our worst league performance of the season.

A young side froze that day, as it did again on Boxing Day, but since the turn of the year things have come together and we have now established a pattern of play which is working well.

Final team selection will be made at training on Thursday after quite a few players didn't make last night's gruelling session at the Catholic Boxing club. But there will be changes both in the pack and the backs with Mark Thompson back in the line up after coming through Saturday's game against Northallerton II's.
