Stags 20 Durham II's 27
Steve Clayton
The Stags went out of the County Cup after putting up a brave fight against a seasoned Durham second team. Two early tries by the visiting pack sealed the game but our youngsters came back with some excellent running rugby.

Steve Clayton had an eventful game. He set up the first try for himself with a strong run down the flank. The pack took the ball on and Steve rejoined the maul to touch down.

Then in the second half he was stretchered off but returned from hospital with the news that there qas no break - just badly damaged ankle ligaments.

Andy Cheslyn and Craig O'Donovan got our other tries finishing off sweeping moves along the backs to go in at the corners.

Paul Moss got one conversion and a penalty and his kicking out of hand was excellent.
