The Bridlington game was due to be Colts rather than Seconds so there was little choice because of the cup situation. Calling off any game is not something we like to do.
But the Firsts game is very much on with everyone very eager to see if last Saturday's performance is the sign of things to come.
Chocky was on superb form, the backs looked sharp with some excellent service service from Davy Tighe the back row.
Chummer is now fit again, and Gez Geritz came off the bench against Northern, so we have plenty of cover. Tim Sawyer also moved up to hooker for part of that game so there are a number of options.
Nick Prest is also back in training after being away on a course, while Anth Carr should have fully recovered from the beavy cold which restricted him to half a game last week.
And what about John Painter? He arrived at Brinkburn almost out of the blue at the weekend, eager for a run out for whichever side would have him. The Stags were only too happy and John had a big smile at the end of the game. He reckoned we have plenty of young talent in the side and they will be all the better for playing alongside him.
