Thommo Back In Action
Thommo
Thommo is back in training and could be in the side to take on Middlesbrough at Brinkburn on Saturday with a 3 o'clock kick off. He may be joined in the backs by new signing Steve Black - the former Blaydon player.

There could also be some other changes in the line-up depending on who is fit enough to train.

Ed Britton is a doubt after his injury two weeks ago - but if Thommo is fit it will be a major boost. Panda has deputised at centre but he is likely to return to his favoured wing with the powerful Black on the other. Incidentally, he can also play back row.

Up front Mark Cholmondeley is making a speedy rcovery from his badly bruised back but is still a couple of weeks away from a return. Fellow prop Gez Geritz has learnt so much from his role of treating West's frequent injuries that he is now in demand as a physio lecturer - but will be unavailable on Saturday as a result.

That means Anth Carr is likely to start alongside Brett and Carlo with Stu Bennett again partnering Paul Rudd in the second row.

Boro will have West legend Big John Dixon at lock but will be without Bishop, their leading points scorer, with Ross McNeill continuing to deputise at fly half.

Scrum half Peter Wright is one to watch, having already scampered in four tries this season, with full back Amdy Micklewright also getting in amongst the tries.

The West managament have named a squad but won't firm up the team until after the team run: From - Anth Carr, Brett Cullinane, Carl Robinson, Paul Rudd, Stu Bennett, Henry Tones, Ed Britton, Carl Miller, Phil Gilbraith, Tim Sawyer, Will Richardson, Darren Thomas, Davy Tighe, Phil Wallis, Allan Milne, Mark Thompson, Andrew Hare, Steve Black, Martin Todd.
