Looking on the bright side we gave away loads and loads of possession but managed to stop them scoring a try. In fact, Horden only threatened our line once and that was in the last minute. When we did get the ball we did look threatening when we ran ... but it didn't happen often enough. So we lost.

Our best source of possession was ref Paul Candlish whose frequent penalties against the home side did not go down well with the Welfare Park faithful.

But their big pack deservedly won the day. They dominated the line-out and shoved us back in the scrum. Fortunately their backs never looked dangerous and, when they did, Allan Milne put in some crunching tackles. When we had the ball we somehow managed to mess up the final pass with some strange balls being thrown out wide where we had two Colts standing in.

David Mullen cried off this morning with work commitments while Tom Rance just failed to show. Paul Moss and Will Richardson stepped in and did their bit.Turner kicked two penalties in each half to secure the victory while Davy Tighe replied for us.

Our best spell came half way through the second half with some pressure which should have seen a score. Panda had the best run of the afternoon sidestepping through the midfield and drawing the full back but, once again, his pass to Will Richardson left the youngster with too much to do and he knocked on.

Some of the few plus points came in the shape of replacement props Anth Carr and Carlo Robinson. Anth once again moe than held his own while Carlo's running with the ball once or twice threatened to sneak us a win we would noit have merited.
