Team for Horden

Team for Horden
Return to Welfare Pk
Stu Bennett returns to Welfare Park with a West side once again missing one or two regulars. Mark Thompson still isn't over his foot injury so Panda is back in the centre .. but Tom Rance does return and he'll be on the wing instead of Tommy Barff.

Dave Mullen will be on the other wing after overcoming his own injury.

Up front Carlo Robinson will have to be content with a start on the bench after missing last week. Henry Tones continues at hooker while Carl Miller will be alongside Paul Rudd at lock. Carl was thrown in at the deep end last week but did very well in the loose creating the last try for his second row partner. He's also now had a week to get accustomed to our line-outs.

Tim Sawyer was again in superb form last week - and is quietly keen to stay top of the N2E try scoring league.

But if there's one West player who would love to get on the scoresheet at Welfare Park its Stu Bennett. He left Horden to see if he could hack it in the higher leagues. He proved he could even if the team itself has now slipped down the leagues.

As a result the big man will be involved in plenty of banter before, during and after the game all of which, no doubt, will be in the best spirit of the game.

Horden have made no secret that they are looking forward to having a pop at us. The links between the clubs go back a long way with Horden Chairman Jonty Groves a star of West's rise up the leagues.

He's promising a good game of running rugby followed by Horden's traditional hospitality - better take a taxi!
