Peter Hodgson is determined to get back into the first team after missing most of last season with a bad shoulder injury. And its more than likely he would have achieved his goal if he hadn't booked a three week holiday to Australia....

Hodgy was decidedly reluctant to confess to the cardinal sin of booking his hols during the season and, after his display against Old Boys, would alsmot certainly started against Sandal. Instead he will have to impress all over again when he returns in mid-September.

He will be one of the few out of contention for Saturday's home warm up against Tech [Brinkburn 3.00.] Skipper Tim Sawyer may be rested if his knee continues to trouble him while young centre Paul Miller is out until the end of September with an ankle ligament strain.

Henry Tones is also nursing an injury while the sickness bug which is sweeping the town has claimed Panda as a victim. The final squad of 22 won't be chosen until after training on Thursday.

Last night's session began with a half hour "chat" in the dressing room. Rod was unhappy with the lack of discipline against Old Boys and may get the ref, Derek English, to come to a training session to hammer home some points.

As we know to our cost yellow cards can cost matches ....
