Ron Greig Stands Down

Ron Greig will stand down as Chairman at the annual general meeting next month with Stu Murray set to takeover the hot seat. Ron has presided over four very difficult years as the club has fought back from the near fatal blow of relegation from the Premiership and near bankruptcy.

But now pressures of work and other community commitments have led to Ron's decision.

He says: "I thought I'd done my bit for the club when I was involved in the first move to Brierton Lane which shows old I am!

"I agreed to come back and help out because it was all hands to the pump when the professional set up disintegrated. We've managed to get things stabilised and I think we are in the verge of much better times. So now is the time for me to stand down ... especially as next year will be a very busy one for me in terms of my own business."

Ron will continue to be a member of the Board which will see Stu Murray move up from vice-Chairman. He is the Board's nominee for the Chairmanship which will be put to the members at the AGM in Springs on July 11th.
